I have found it a problem for me to associate media files with MC because whether they are audio, video, or photos the MC icons for each all look identical.

Making this more of an issue for me all audio file types also have identical icons.

To compound the problem further, a right-click on a media file associated with MC simply states: "Media Center file" revealing nothing about the media type or file type.

On the other hand, when I associate my audio with i.e. foobar, each audio file type appears with a different icon (red = mp3, orange = flac, etc)
(Same holds true for Video files and GOM player)

I hate to continue to associate my audio files with foobar simply for the differential icons when I prefer to use MC, but I can't work with the non-differentiated icons MC applies.

Any chance this can be updated & improved?

This was discussed a month ago or so in another thread... I agreed with it then, and I agree with you now.

I don't associate MC with just about anything on my system because of this issue.  Please fix.  The association can be done without changing all of the file types in Windows Explorer to something so useless.  VLC and MPC-HC both manage to do it correctly.

I don't think they ever really responded to that thread.  We just got a bunch of "yeah, that's annoying" and "+1" posts.
