Why is my computer going through the update process every day?
« on: October 28, 2011, 09:33:40 am »

For some reason, it seems that MC16 runs an update every day.  But when I check the version, it is build 179, which was originally installed on my computer on 9/30, and today is 10/28.

So why is it doing this install routine every time i start up my computer?  Can I tell it not to do that?

Also - any hints on making User Account Control (UAC) less annoying in Win 7 64bit?  I get a message with some frequency from MC16 on bootup "Unable to register controls, run as poweruser"  Well, I'm running as an administrator on my computer, so I'm not sure what the application is looking for.

Thanks
