How do I edit the genre list?  I do not want to create a catagory.  I want to edit the genre list.

Just type in whatever you want in File Properties.

You could have a genre called Joe-Bob if you want.

the only problem with this is you must have ID3v2 tags turned on, it would not be saved to the id3v1.1 tags

it will also be saved to the MJ database.

Just throw out all songs except those of genre Booty Bass, and your life will be a rose garden.

ID3v1 tag codes the genre with a number (not with a text). Some tag editor let you change the text associated to each value (it is probably what you want) but you have to be aware that if you use another software (to manage mp3) it will display the "standard" text associated to the number, not your text since it is not coded in the tag.

Id3v2 codes the genre as a text so you define your own genres.
