iphone & flac files
« on: December 13, 2010, 05:34:24 am »

I have just bought an iphone (maybe foolishly) and am just wondering the best bet for syncing music
I have reinstalled iTunes and am trialling MCis
Problem is I have lots of flac files.
Do I have to convert them to apple lossless. I really would prefer not to if I can

If you use MC to "sync" to a special iTunes library, you can have it convert the FLAC files on-the-fly to MP3 or whatever iOS friendly format you want.  I do that and it works great.

Thanks

I use this (MCiTunesSyncronizer):

In my boot camp (under VMWare) Windows system I maintain my JRiver Media Center library and a slaved iTunes library.  That iTunes library is then shared so my wife can pull files as needed in to her personal iTunes library on her laptop as needed for her use.
