Ascii Star not working anymore..

(1/1)

locust:
In my panes I made a search list to make a rating filter..

It had 5 entries originally

1 Star
2 Star
3 Star
4 Star
5 Star

To make it look nicer I called the entries as follows;

1 ★
2 ★
3 ★
4 ★
5 ★

But since upgrading they show up as a little rectangle, I can't paste it in the forum, as it turns back into a star, so I've posted an image..

I've tried some other symbols from the same Expanded Character Entity List: Miscellaneous Symbols, detailed here. http://www.edlazorvfx.com/ysu/html/ascii.html

It seems quite random I thought it would be a problem with a specific char set, but some work and some don't.. As far as I can tell there are problems with General Punctuation, Mathematical Operators, Miscellaneous Technical, Expanded Character Entity List: Miscellaneous Symbol. I think all the greek symbols work fine..

Is this happening to anyone else??

It may be a bad upgrade.

Stars in a panel...clever. Just use an Expression instead of a Search List, like Mid(★★★★★,0,[Rating]).

That is far more clever  :) That's a much quicker way to do it.. Unfortunately, the same problem happens this way too. It must be a problem on my end..

Any other ideas? How long till the next build? I could wait until then & see if upgrading helps.. Could it be a problem with my system fonts?

Would this help?

Tools > Options > Tree & View > Select Font (At the bottom)
Could it be the font J River is using? Mines uses "Segoe UI", does your use this? I just tried another, it didn't seem to help but on a the plus side J River looks quite good with some other fonts..

Thanks

Got it.. It was the wrong font..

I just had to change it from Segoe UI to Segoe UI Symbol..

Thanks Rick..
