Creative Labs Digital VCR
« on: May 20, 2002, 09:30:59 am »

Saw a good deal on the Creative Labs Digital VCR (some of the ATI TV Tuner cards seem to get some spotty reviews, so was looking for another option). Any chance MJ 8 supports the Creative card?

Thx.

Not at this time.  We like the ATI and Hauppauge cards.

Which card do you recommend? The TV Wonder?

Thanks!

Well my 2 cents, I like my ATI All-in-Wonder video card.

I do also have a ATI TV Card the all-in-wonder works better.

I do like the creative remote control for the tuner, not sure I would use it since I normally only set 1 foot from the computer (it is my life support system also, due to the accident)

Yeah, unfortunately I have a decent video card already (ATI Radeon 8500), so I don't want to replace it with an AiW. Maybe just try out the Creative card and eschew MJ compatibility for the time being. It's $49 after rebate at the Comp, so it's kinda hard to argue with.

For TV, I've used the ATI TV Wonder VE, and a couple of different All in Wonder cards.  All work fine.  If you have a video card you like already, the TV Wonder VE will work fine.  About $50.

The cards are all a little different so supporting them is a pain.
