Hello everyone,

I know this may be a basic question, but here goes anyway...

Will it save me time during disk burning if I store my CD's in lame VBR and then use the files to burn an mp3 disk?  Does MJ have to convert them to wave and then back to MP3?  If so, I've heard this degrades the files.

If you store as MP3, there is no conversion.

If you store as WMA, but convert to MP3, you do lose some quality.

If you store as APE or WAV, then convert to MP3, there is no difference.

Burning a cd with mp3 on it is akin to copy data from one drive to another one in Windows
So no convertion when you put mp3 from your hard drive on one data cd

thats if your using MJ8, if your using 7.2 it converts from cd-rom to wave to your format.

in mj8 the "MP3 Encoder VBR" is the lame encoder that does a direct encode to mp3
