Lastest MC16 no volume control
« on: November 30, 2011, 04:00:21 am »

As stated I have zero control of the volume. The slider slips fully left to right and back with no change in volume. Any clues?

You probably have a 'bitdirect' method of sending the music to the soundcard selected such as Wasapi, Asio or KS. This sends the full volume out unaltered, so changing the volume slider in windows mixer will have no effect as it is bypassed.

You can make the JRiver MC change the volume in a different way. If you right click on the volume slider (or somewhere adjacent - I forget now) it will give you 3 options for how MC controls the volume.

The bitdirect modes work well for those that have an external preamp/amplification to control the volume as you don't really want to do volume control twice. JRiver is flexible enough to give you the choice.
