DVD Audio drifting increasingly out of sync
« on: December 02, 2011, 10:20:55 pm »

Wife was doing a Christmas marathon downstairs while decorating the tree.  One thing that was pretty consistent was that most of the DVD content (ripped to MKV) was having audio sync issues.  The audio would drift apart from the video at a pretty consistent pace, getting further separated as time went on.  Pausing/restarting did nothing, but a full stop/start of the video would resync it - then it would start to drift apart again.

System downstairs connects to the shared library upstairs using the library sharing feature, and is connected to the receiver/TV via HDMI.

Any thoughts?  It wasn't happening to every movie, but it did happen to at least half of them.

Did you try VideoClock? Are you sure the mkv-conversion was succesfull? (so you have selected the same fps for video and audio?)
