MC16 and ClearQAM support?
« on: September 09, 2011, 04:14:01 pm »

Just moved into a highrise where one of the "features" is that 65 channels (including most of your "basic cable": news stations, ESPN, Comedy Central, History, etc.) are provided free, in HD, through a 75 ohm cable hookup in the wall.  I'm looking into TV tuners for my PC and have a couple that will work with ClearQAM, but I found a posting from 2009 that indicated that MC didn't work with ClearQAM.  Is this still true?  Could you briefly explain why there's an issue (is it licensing, etc.)?  Are there plans to offer support in the future?

Thanks much.

As an intermediary solution, tuners the likes of HDHomerun (I have the first generation) do a ClearQAM to ATSC remap and then you're all set (scanning ATSC channels in MC).

MC17 and ClearQAM support?

I would love it if ClearQAM was supported in MC17. It's the only thing stopping me from using MC as my PVR.
