Hello

I'm running JRiver 16.0.181.

All my FLAC files are mapped to a network F drive.

Tools -> Options - > Library & Folders -> Auto Import.
Set to
Run Auto Import into Background = On
Folders = F:
Analyse audio = off
Build thumbnails = off (also tried on)
Get cover art = off
Update for external changes = on
Fix broken links = Yes (tried "Yes Protect Network files" but this didn't do anything at all).

What I am doing:

If I delete a folder via Windows Explorer (F:\) it eventually disappears from the library (good).

If I rename a folder via Windows Explorer (F:\) it disappears (good) but the renamed folder never comes back (bad).
NB in this instance I only want to update tags/cover art images manually.

What am I doing wrong, why aren't new folders/renamed folders being detected (eventually)?
NB a restart does nothing.

I'm mainly using the file view for my music.

p.s. Is there a way of "observing" what auto update is doing?

I've read this a couple of times, and am not sure what you mean when you say:

  "it disappears (good) but the renamed folder never comes back (bad)."

From where exactly in MC is the folder disappearing, and to where are you expecting it to return?  If you can be as precise as possible, someone will be certain to have an answer all the more quickly.

I rename a folder where I store FLAC files in Windows Explorer under the F Drive.

The JR River library (Audio -> File view) the folder will eventually disappear as it no longer exists (at least in name).

I would then expect JR River to detect the renamed folder (same place, within the library) after a period of time. It does not do that.

Check your Tools > Import > Configure Auto-Import settings, to be sure a containing parent folder is included in the auto-import folder list and has Audio selected for that folder.
