What up with OGG !!!

Bad enuf am slowly getting up to speed with MJ and all encoding, converting, etc. Now I'm reading about .ogg encoding. Quick search at Kazaa and I found 9 (count 'em - 9) files encoded .ogg. Looks like the general public isn't quite sold on it. It maybe fine for personal use only, but then again so is ape. And what do you do with the millions of .mps's out there now?  Personallly, I would go thru the trouble of re-ripping my collection but then again, I'm a little weird that way..   Next Page

I plan to try ORG in the next few days
But if anyone thinking this format is better start to put Org on P2P,you will see more and more Org in no time

Pdog,

Guess you didn't search when I was online; used to share nearly 1500 ogg files till I felt convicted. Removed Kazaa. My searches used to count several hundred. OGG's may me more popular than you think.

I just found around...50 oggs. And that with one search. So they are out there...mmm "californation"

Sounds like the old VHS-Beta argument. Doesn't matter who we think is best, its all about content and availability. Did try OGG, prefer it to wma and mp3, but not fanatic about it. Maybe my ears are getting dusty.

Companies Know Users Know About MP3, And So They Will Support It. It Takes Money To Support More And More Formats, There Must Be A Limit And The Line Is Drawn, MP3 And Windows Media

It is said that cats prefer ogg by 3 to 1.  Not sure where I read that.

Not quite that old - GMAB. But was there in the late 50s when the Guru was first exploring Inner Space. Back then, you cld find the synthesis in Merck's Manual, the acid crystals were still on the shelves and bored grad students wld run off a little for the week-end in the Organics lab when they had nothing better to do.
