Can Synology Media Server be controlled from Media Server
« on: March 17, 2012, 07:10:26 pm »

Would like to connect Synology unit to receiver via USB and then control Synology Media Server from Media Server on a networked PC. Is this possible.  Thanks.  sskings

No, Synology NAS's are only media servers, not media renderers.  Synology's own audio applications (Audio Station and DS Audio) can play to an audio device connected to its USB, but the unit doesn't expose this as a DLNA renderer.  You can connect to the Synology Server I believe in MC as a remote DLNA library and you can select songs to play on your PC or another DNA renderer but you won't be able to send music to the Synology.
