WebPlay and Cover art
« on: December 01, 2011, 03:01:11 am »

Hi,

I am testing WebPlay to access my library from other computers. It works great, but I noticed that when I play flac files, it doesn´t send the cover information to the Windows Media Center. I think that is because the JRiver converts it to mp3. Is it a bug that the converted mp3 is not associated to the cover art or is there a workaround?

Did you ever figure this out? I'm about to re-rip my entire collection and can't decide between ape and flac. We will end up streaming the collection alot in other areas of the house, so I'd like to know if we can expect to lose the cover art.

FLAC and APE both support cover art.

But WebPlay may not support cover art since converted files are provided.  You might try Media Center (using Library Server) on the clients or DLNA.  Both approaches would support cover art.
