Are you sure the path shown at "Tools>Options>File Location>Cover Art" is setup the way you want/expect it?
Do you save your "audio" Cover Art saved in the same Folder as the file?

BTW - Are you talking about all your Cover Art, or the Art for just movies or just audio?

Try clicking on Options > File Location > Cover Art > Clean cover art folder...

This will create an Albums sub-folder under the Cover Art folder.  I was able to save there.

MrC gave good advice.

You can read about the cover art folder structure used in v17 here:

As I understand it...

MC17 is using a new naming scheme to help organize artwork and reduce clutter in given folder.  Previously, there may have been a mess of jpg's in the default cover art folder.  Now they are organized according to type:

   Album
   Artists
   Series
   Videos

The Clean function both creates these folders, and moves cover art files into the appropriate folder, updating the Image File references appropriately.  This was probably also done to simplify the programming of, and robust-ify (new word), the code that has to locate the cover art via the [Image File] field.

The new system is probably a good idea, especially as the MC user base expands into video and TV.  But I think for some sub-set of old timers it is a bit of a surprise and can cause problems for anyone who either didn't notice the announcement or hasn't yet figured out how it works (that would be me).

I happened to have been building my MC server box at the same time as the .59 build came out and when I imported all my files (something I have done easily several times over the years) I was caught with a big mess of albums losing their cover art (the old system didn't rename album art work in sync with renames to the album, something I wish it had done....and I think that was what caught up with me).  Now I am going through all my albums and my cover art directory and re-associating the art to the album...not a large percentage but with a large library I probably have 100+ albums without art.  (*&^#@%$#@

I would have appreciated a link to the wiki right from the release change log...that would have given me some education prior to upgrading and I could have picked some slow afternoon to dedicate to the upgrade / cover art repair.

BTW, long ago I had checked include cover art inside the file - the new system systematically did that even (I'm guessing) further reducing the need for a cover art directory.  I like this behavior.

Phalanthus - I changed the spacing in my post to make it clearer which behavior I like VS the overall pain of dealing with the new cover art system for some / all / most / a few / unknown-percent of MC users.  At the moment you have inserted your comments in to the quote of my post so who said what is becoming murky.  That is why I changed my post a bit... to make my point hopefully clear(er).
