Red October uses the latest LAV filters (v0.44). Intel QuickSync hardware decoding supported, plus other new goodies and bug fixes.

17.0.68 contains new LAV filters v.044

Is this for RO Standard or HQ?
I should just check the hardware acceleration box now if I have Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics?
Any other tricks?

Only if you enable Hardware Acceleration under video settings.
