Saving Library in a spare location.
« on: January 17, 2012, 12:51:25 pm »

I guess this spare library copy is something most people should do anyway just as an independent back up.

To clear issues I have with CDs not being found I have to do a complete Windows re-install. This of course means loosing my current J River Library etc. I have run a back up to a memory stick, but are there any other ways I could copy my library ready to re-install it on my new version of windows when I start from scratch. An external drive holds the music files which should not be touched, but I am worried that when I start a new J River it will not know what these files are etc.

Many thanks

This is what automatic backup software is for.  You set it, and forget it.  When you have a disaster, reinstall your apps, and go grab the data files (such as an automatically generated MC backup) and restore.  This solves generally ALL these types of problems, rather than manually having to manage the data for each of your perhaps many programs.
