Virtual Subvoofer Issues
« on: February 08, 2012, 04:55:53 am »

Hello all gurus :)

This great DSP effect have been working fantastically with all my headphones.
But for a week or two now the effect of using this is a major decrease in volume. The more bass - the less of volume.
Any way of going back to the old better way?

Thanks in advanced!

Virtual Subwoofer reduces the level to prevent the chance of clipping.

To work around this, you can either turn up the volume, or if you don't have any volume left, add an 'Adjust volume' effect in DSP Studio > Parametric Equalizer and add something like +6 dB to the signal.  You can watch the peak level in the lower left corner of DSP Studio to see if you're clipping.

Thank you for the reply.
Is it an update to the program that makes adding subwoofer lose volume, or is it some unintentional change in the settings from my part?
Im pretty sure this a recent phenomena I've notice only in the last couple of week

The subwoofer is actually not even working like it used to even if I apply gain. I'm very dissapointed with the so previously glorious bass you got. Now you can't get ANY subwoofer effect.
Is it any idea to reinstall the program to fix this?

I just uninstalled JR 16 and tried both the 15 an 17 to come back to 16 all with the same problems with virtual subwoofer.
Is it just me that just get lower volumes using this and no bass?It so weird that it suddenly just stopped working right. I've tried different DACs/amps/headphones and both USB and optical so its not some hardware problem.
Damnit this is frustrating.
