Feature Request - testing tool
« on: January 25, 2012, 08:27:49 am »

Using our digital mixer at work (Yamaha ls9) there is a handy section for testing out the system.
there are option for generation noise
or a tone with parameters  for level an frequency
also you can quickly turn on/of the output channels

such a tool would be very nice to have for jriver (in the dsp studio?)
for testing or breaking in components

maybe other patterns or sweeps are good for testing also

Thats a good idea. Would strengthen MC as the audiofile choise. Perhaps a tone generator with selectable frequencys and sweeps.

In the Room Correction DSP you can play test tones using the Level and Tone buttons. There are also Mute and Solo buttons that allow for testing of the various channels.

In Version 17.0.73 you can go to Tools > Advanced > Create Audio Test Clips and create some pink noise and tone test clips. This also creates a Test Clip playlist.

thanks for the info
I had a look at the options in the room correction DSP and altho it sounded promising it seems to be very limited, for example you can only select one channel at the time.
Forgot to take a picture today of the menu to illustrate better what a mean.  in the mixing desk will try to remember Sunday when i'm back at work.

I have the latest stable version, so no options for the create test clips.

It is a little counter-intuitive, but to select more than one channel you actually mute the other channels that you don't want to play.
