syntax for adding all the files in a folder to a smart list

What is the exact syntax for adding a rule to a smartlist that would add all the files in a particular folder, just started using this folder and all my attempts at a correct syntax result in an empty smartlist-thanks for any help

Edit the Smartlist, and add a Rule:

  Filename (path) is <full path here>

You can also replace is with contains or other variant, depending upon your needs.

"Contains" is almost always better than "is" in this case.  Otherwise you'll have trouble with subdirectories.

So i had time to try your suggestions and setup filename path- contains- m:\TCM-PC061611  and after hitting Ok or the apply tab nothing ends up in the smartlist.  I also tried quotes to start and end the path which i saw on another post.  i don't get what's wrong with the syntax

The files would need to have been imported already into MC, as Filename (path), and other properties for that matter, are properties managed by MC on a per-file basis.

If the files are not already imported, you can use MC's Explorer to peruse the Windows folder tree.

No need for quotes.
