it seems to be crashing every time i try to save something. is it going to disappear or is it one of those com things that need some more testing..

i hope testing...i like testing

I hope testing... I really often need the visualization studio! For ballroom lessons it's really, really nice to see the remaining time in fullscreen! I always hope that sometimes the vis studio will support more (all) fields and not only the very few it does right now.

For me it doesn't crash when I save something. Only did a fast test: opened an existing file, saved with same name, saved with different name, changed something saved as new vis. No crashes here.

i do also hope for some more fields.. im now trying to copy the composer and keywords to the notes field. since i dont ever use that, and it is supported.

I didn't know that this is supported!! I didn't even know the field itself... Thanks for the hint! I'll start to copy my "Dance"-field there so I can perhaps display the dance again

It's not looking as good as in times of MC14 (2008), where I needed the help of a strange guy named "gappie" to create my first visualization


But it looks at least ok now.

I had much crashes with Visualization studio, too. I found one reproducible crash here: when closing VisStudio and selecting "Yes" when it asks me to save or not to save, it always crashes. But saves my changes before crashing. So I'm not that much angry

indeed that is how i save stuff.. when i do file > save it does not crash... that makes things much easier

well. viz studio crashes mc oft enough.. but ive got something.. maybe overdoing it again. but i like it.

was testing screencam software, so took a screen cam, without sound

Do you use some automatic to fill your notes field? I saw your thread where you got some hints for the use of expressions to merge different fields into one using expressions. But do you have to start the process manually from time to time or is there a way to make MC automatically fill a field with a specified content?

i do that manually. i dont think there is a way to do it automatically. but its easy to make a view or smartlist that shows it when some files are not up to date. i only have to copy/paste the expression in the notes field.

I'm just hopping to find some help getting my Vis Studio creation working on on a client using Library Server. Since this thread has the only useful info on Vis Studio I thought I'd Jump in with an important Question, for me anyway

On a client using the Library server the Vis Studio COVER_ART call results in the JRiver default artwork instead of the album artwork. I've got folder.jpg in each album (on mapped matching drives) and the image is imbedded in each .flac or .mp3. I'm wondering if there are any clues or ideas in how to change the line:

<ImageFile>COVER_ART</ImageFile>

In a way that I might be able to reconnect to my artwork.

I tried <ImageFile>folder.jpg</ImageFile>

and it swapped it out for a .jpg from somewhere, but not the album folder...

I'm loving Media Server but can't give up my beloved Vis Studio Creation (Although gappie's looks better than mine, I hope you will share your's!)

Anybody up to earning a beer from a bloke in need?
