Setup: Tools > Options > Handheld > Device Management > Add Device

I use this to keep a small subset of songs available on the laptop's hard drive for when I don't have a network connection to use library client.
I use a smartlist to determine what gets sync'd to the laptop's drive.
Problem:
Media Center is running on main computer.
Laptop isn't connected to the network at all and doesn't show under Drives & Devices branch in Media Center on the main computer.
Now...
Connect laptop to the network. \\laptopname\music is now connectable and browsable from the main computer.
It still doesn't show up under Drives & Devices, even several minutes later,
So I am unable to select the device and click the button to start a sync.
I have to shut down MC on the main computer and restart it.
Only then does the laptop device appear under Drives & Devices, and then I can sync.
I tried clicking right on the Drives & Devices branch and pressing F5, but that didn't help.
