Moved files to new drive, everything doubled, help saving tags
« on: February 11, 2012, 05:54:23 pm »

It is too late for me, but I need help for my fathers drives. We both got new drives and moved all our music to them. All my library files were doubled so I cleared the library and now all my hi rez tags that I had to enter my self are gone. How do I prevent this for my fathers set up? He still has them all on both drives locally. Thanks for any consideration.

It is not too late for you if you have a Library Backup.
Restore a library back up that has your old tags and then select all your files and use:
Tools>Library Tools>Rename, Move, & Copy
in the drop down select "Update database to point to new location (no file rename, move, or copy)"
click the check box for "find & replace" only and replace the old location with the new one.
For example:
Find what = C:\Myfiles
Replace with = D:\Myfiles
