MC Team:
I have seen a lot of misinformation and/or misunderstanding on whether Red October standard is the best option for watching video on low-power processors, including information on hardware acceleration.
I would like to point out that NO Red October setting, with or without graphics acceleration checked, will work for watching blu rays on an AMD E series APU system. It simply doesn't work. The audio and video will be choppy and out of sync.
The ONLY solution I've found that works is to bypass Red October by adding "ffdshow DXVA" as a custom video decoder. Doing this DOES work.
With all the progress MC has made toward hardware acceleration on nvidia cards and intel cards, it seems that maybe now would be a good time to turn your attention towards AMD's new line CPUs.
Just make ffdshow DXVA the standard component in Red October when these processors are detected, much as you do with NVIDIA and CUVID.
Thank you,
