I find that the default to "start recording 1 minute" early (and end 1 minute late) is not necessary. I'm just getting the tail end of the previous shows and commercials. Is there a way I can change the default for when to start and end the recording to 0 minutes? I know I can do this manually but I usually forget.

No, it can not be changed.

Would you consider changing the "hard coding" in a future build to make "0" the default?  Then Users can then bump it up to 1 minute if they want it.
I have never found a need to start a recoding early (the broadcasters are starting the shows/movies on time, and it's easy to keep computer clock on time).

I would rather see a way of setting the default start and end buffers in the settings rather than hard coding anything.

Here is what I plan to do:

When you schedule a recording, you get to the page where you select number of minutes before and after.  I would add buttons next to both of those edit boxes - "Use this value as default".

The next time a recording is scheduled, the default values will fill the boxes.
