Is it possible to use RO HQ for blu-rays but RO Standard for Live TV without switching it back and forth? I thought I saw an option for something like this in the past but thins seem to have changed and I don't see how to do it.

One step further - is it possible to use one set of Mad VR settings for blu-rays and a different set of Mad VR settings for everything else?

Under Options -> Video -> Video Mode: Custom you can define rules that engage different playback methods based on media types.  I'm not positive about BluRay because I don't play any BluRay discs directly on my machines ever (I rip them first).

But, for example, I have a rule on my HTPC that works like this:

Use ROHQ generally, except for with certain file types (which I know are troublesome on that machine), where I change the renderer to EVR.

I have been trying to get my recorded TV (.ts and .jtv) to playback cleanly with RO+HQ (madVR), but it doesn't like MadVR. Now I have my TV recordings set to use EVR and everything else using MadVR, and it looks real nice.

To have the filter work just with Blu-rays you need to put bdmv in the condition field.

That's basically what I do.

I do wish that I could add a conditional based on bitrate, though (maybe you can, but it isn't documented how).  My main problem on the HTPC isn't actually with particular file types (TS in my case), it is actually with bitrates greater than 10Mbps.

Even with MKVs and whatnot, any file that has a bitrate higher than 10-11Mbps, I get a little stuttering with MadVR, so it would be nice to be able to base the decision on bitrate in addition to than file type/codec.  FWIW, this only happens on my HTPC (Q9550 @ ~3.5GHz and an AMD 6870).  My server machine is a bit more powerful and plays ROHQ perfectly fine without modification on those same files (it's a Core i5 750 @ ~4GHz with an older AMD 4850 GPU).

If you can do this, I don't know what condition term to use.
