Trying to get file back into right album
« on: March 20, 2012, 11:38:11 am »

I have a file that is showing as in Soft Rock- 36 Classic Rock Ballads Disk 2  and it should be in with the rest in Soft Rock: 36 Classic Rock Ballads Disk 2
I don't know how or where MC has added the : to the second album or created two. All the files are in one folder called  The single track
that is in the 1st folder had no album or album artist so I have made them exactly the same  as the ones in the Soft Rock: but still it shows as another album with one track.

How do I get rid of this association and make this single track appear with all the others?

The actual folder is called Soft Rock- 36 Classic Rock Ballads Disk 2
Cheers

Select all the tracks for the given album.

Go to Action Window > Tag

Examine the value of the Album tag.  If it says [Varies], then the album names do not match.  Copy a correct one from one track, reselect the tracks, and paste it into the Album tag.

Just to make sure; in case of compliations Album and Album Artist must be the same.
Most of the time Album Artist="Various" and you can use the Artist to specify the performer.
Make sutre not to mix up Album Artist and Artist

If the tags are correct it often takes some time for MC to display it.
Refreshing the view might help
