Media centre on two PC's
« on: March 19, 2012, 03:17:42 pm »

Hi,

I am shortly going to purchase - however I read somewhere that I can only download an extra copy for another PC within two weeks. Is this correct as I am in the process of having a new PC built specifically for music but it may not be ready in time to meet this deadline. If there is indeed a deadline - why? If there isn't, sorry to bother you all.

Can someone clear this up for me - I have to purchase by Wednesday night.

No, the 14 days is the duration of the license FILE that you use to validate MC.  You can Restore to obtain a new license FILE in the future when needed.

The license FILE expires after 2 weeks.  MC continues to be licensed once installed.

Also, you are allowed to use a single license on a "reasonable" number of PCs that you personally own and use.  For example, on a desktop and a laptop, or a server and a HTPC.  That's fine, and you don't need to buy it twice.
