EQ tag by album?
« on: March 30, 2012, 11:09:01 am »

Would it be possible to save Parametric EQ filters as tags on music files to be loaded when the file plays?

Many modern recordings IMHO are mixed to sound good on crappy car stereo's which in turn makes them sound like crap on a good system, as well as older recordings that need some help in the bass department. The existing eq is great for getting the system/room tuned nicely, however it would be a big plus if extra EQ could be attached to the files that need some correction themselves.

Just a thought.

There are a couple of plugins that did this for the regular 10-band (or are there more bands...however many) equalizer. One of them worked pretty well for me, but the other gave me problems. I think one was called EQDB (but I could be making that up too.) There is a thread for each in the plugins forum. Sorry I couldn't be of any precise help.

Ok, EQdb doesn't seem to work in MC17. Does anyone have it working?

AutoEQ seems to work, I'll play with it for a while.

Thanks
