Years ago, traveling in the Yucatan, we used to ask for directions from people in the street. Invariably, they gave detailed isntructions, and invariably we'd wind up in the middle of nowhere, unable to figure out where we'd gone wrong.

Then someone told us a principal characteristic of Yucatacens is their elaborate politeness and desire to please. Turns out the people we were talking to had no idea where to send us, but did't want to leave the impression that they were indifferent or unhelpful, so they made it up on the fly.

Forum operates the same way.

Here,i have a rule
When asking where is this street:if they say "there" moving ONCE the hand in the direction,i walk
If they say"waou,there" moving MANY times they hand in the direction,i take a taxi.......

When i drive i just do my best not to ask.
