CDDB never works with proxy & Win2k laptop
« on: May 06, 2002, 11:49:58 am »

I have a Win2k SP-2 Dell Inspiron 8000.  Sitting behind a proxy and multiple attempts at all kinds of settings changes has not affected my inability to get to CDDB.  At different times I've gotten messages telling me that the cddb server response was bad syntax (v8), cddb server not found (v7), etc. etc. etc.

I'm at wit's end trying to work with CDDB and MJ7/8.  I want to clear out everything (however, I can't even get past the CDDB registration button in v8 as it refuses to go anywhere from that point.

Can someone please tell me how to get to a pristine CDDB setup, MJ setup (have at different times installed MJ v7 and v8 (which just uninstalled v7).  I want to act as if I had never used MJ and/or CDDB. I want to register CDDB as a new user, but so far cannot.

Help me!

There are separate settings for CDDB for proxy server.  Under MJ/settings/options/something (v7) or settings/options/device settings (v8).  MJ uses IE proxy server settings for everything else.
