Unable to Import DFF Files
« on: February 12, 2012, 07:50:17 pm »

I am having trouble importing DFF files. They play just fine in MC17, and DFF is set as a known file association. If I try and import the folder where the files live, I get the report that 0 files imported. If I go to Windows Explorer, right-click on the folder and try the import that way, I see that 0 files are imported (all the files are "updated").

What am I missing? Why won't these files import into the Library??

We don't support DSD files that use compression.  Do you happen to know if these files might be compressed?

Do you have any way to provide a sample to matt at jriver dot com?

Thanks.

I'm responding to an email here:

I'm puzzled that the files play but don't import, because things in Playing Now are sort of imported (from a technical standpoint).

It makes me wonder if they're already imported?  What happens if you drag them directly into a Playlist?

DFF files currently will show with no metadata.

A build coming soon adds full DFF tagging (ID3v2).

Thanks.

I can't seem to make them show up no matter what. As I mentioned, a "manual" import (either in MC17 or from Windows Explorer) reports 0 files imported.

It is not important to me to keep them as DFF's; I'll transform them into high-res FLAC's and work with them that way.

Looking forward to the DFF tagging in an upcoming release.

Thanks!
