Playstation 3 quit supporting media streaming after upgrade
« on: January 14, 2012, 07:27:54 am »

So I was using MC 14 to stream audio/video from my laptop and then I upgraded to MC 17 and now I can't get the PS3 to recognize the Media Server.  I've messed with all the settings I can.  This seems to be beyond my knowledge.

The WMP icon still shows up on the PS3 as a recognized server, but I would prefer to use MC 17, as its just better (when its working).

Any ideas why 14 works fine and 17 has issues?

Could it have to do with the fact that I still have MC 14 installed?

Doubtful.  It's probably a setting for DLNA.  You could try reading a few other posts.

In MC 17, first make sure that DLNA is enabled under Tools->Options->Media Network->Add or Configure DLNA servers->Advanced.
If it still doesn't work, remove the existing DLNA server under Tools->Options->Media Network->Add or Configure DLNA servers, then add it mach in using the playstation 3 template.

This worked for me but for the record I had to reboot the PS3 for it to work.

Thanks!
