Netflix in Theater View not working
« on: February 16, 2012, 07:37:13 pm »

I am getting an error when trying to watch netflix from the theater view.  It works fine from the main window (when I select netflix from the Videos > Connected Media list).  Also Hulu is working fine from theater view, so it seems to be isolated to just netflix in theater view.

The error I get reads as follows:

"Internet Connection Problem
Error Code: N8106-152

An Internet or home network connection problem is preventing palyback.
Please check your internet connection and try again.

If the problem persists, please call Netflix at 1-866-579-7113"

It may or may not be relevent that I was playing around with theater view skins when I discovered this problem.   Generally I don't use theater view, or watch netflix movies through MC, so it was just by chance I even noticed the problem and I have no idea if it just started or has been that way.   I did switch back to the default skin and no change.

The error message loads after I select a movie to play and the netflix loading screen pops up.  It usually gets to 7%.

Just checked. No problem here (USA). I do recall that when using Netflix for the first time there is a window that pops up (not the JRiver window) asking if the program should be allowed through Windows firewall. Maybe you are being blocked by your firewall.

Is there some reason that the netflix in the main view, found under "connected media" would be different from the netflix in theater view?  Because it works fine in the main view.

I've seen the problem you describe if I accidentally started a Netflix movie in one zone, then later on tried to start playing a Netflix movie in another zone.  Netflix won't allow playback of two movies at the same time.

I am also having the exact same issue.  I checked my firewall settings and they are set to allow JRiver MediaCenter thru.  Does anyone have any ideas how to get this working?
Thanks!

Does it work if you play the movie from a browser?

Yes, Netflix works just fine from a browser.  The only place it is not working is in Theater View.

I had a similar problem and switching from IE to chromium as the browser fixed the problem. Had to install Chromium.

Here is what I did to fix this problem:
I uninstalled MC 17.
Then, I logged out of Netflix for all browsers and cleared the browsing history.
Then I installed MC 17 and logged into Netflix while in Theater view.

Seems to be working just fine now.   :)
