JMR refuses to import some 24/96 FLAC files [Solved]
« on: May 17, 2012, 09:58:25 am »

I have downloaded recently a classical album, with 12 files in 24/96 FLAC format, from TheClassicalShop.net.  Surprisingly, JMR refused to import 5 files out of 12.

I re-downloaded some of them again, same story.  Must be a problem with the files, I thought.  But WMP plays them fine.

Any advice on what's going on here and what to do would be highly appreciated ...

Is there any way you could provide a sample file to matt at jriver dot com?

Also, if you rename the file to C:\1.flac, does it make a difference (just to rule out network drive, long filename, etc. issues)?

well, all the 12 files are in the same directory and have very similar names.

what is the best way to send a 70MB file to you?

I don't think JRiver has an incoming mail size limit, but your sending server may.

Otherwise, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc. would work.

Mystery solved!

These files were tagged differently and JMR made a separate album of them.  Found this album and successfully merged into one.

No problem with JMR, simply poor tagging by the online shop ...

Many thanks for a prompt response
