[Solved] Green and Black interference on TV
« on: April 17, 2012, 02:53:51 am »

Hi Guys,

Hoping someone can help here...

Please see the attached image, am getting this green / black interference on my screen intermittently when watching TV.

Have recently performed a complete re-install of Windows, so all drivers are up to date and all GPU settings are defult.

Am using RO Std with AC3Filter, though problem occurs whether or not I'm using AC3Filter.
GPU acceleration is currently on, however again problem occurs whether it's on or off.
Green is accompanied by broken lines across the screen and blurry image.

Any tips or advice as to what may be causing this would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

J.

Mr ChriZ

Does it occur if you watch in a window as opposed to full screen?

Is that an ATSC channel?  I had a similar issue except worse and mine turned out to be a bad signal from the antenna.

Thanks for the response - no, it's DVBT.

Signal strength has changed between old install and new...

@Mr Chriz, will get back to you.

Is it only on recorded TV or does it shows on other video such as downloaded video?

If it is only on recorded TV is it on all channels?

EDIT: This IS always the case. If I start TV on a channel with AC3 audio, all is OK. If I start on a channel with an MPEG audio stream, I get the interference.

It's just on Live TV (or recorded TV). Doesn't show on DVD playback or on Netflix etc.

Did some testing last night... It seems if I start TV on a channel with Mpeg2 / AC3 stream, then change to a Mpeg / Mpeg all is OK.

However, If I start on an Mpeg / mpeg stream channel, the interference appears.

This is not always the case, but it is definitely more often than not.

Which GPU? Try turning off all video enhancements in the GPU driver. I've seen strange green lines and other video artefacts with ATI GPU's when Catalyst video "de-noise" etc enhancements were enabled.

Updated to the latest (Beta) Nvidia drivers and all seems OK now.

Thanks for the suggestions, Guys.

imugli,

which beta did you install? I'm having intermittent 'presentation glitches' in MadVR now for the past few weeks and considering updating drivers. I've tried to fiddle with the madVR settings but nothing seems to cure it.
