I mentioned this a few builds ago, thought it was fixed but apparently not...

Enable gridlines and scroll through the content view with the scroll wheel and the mouse pointer hovering in the content view pane. Gridlines are not redrawn. Allow the file information tool tip to display for an even weirder effect.

Does not occur when using the scroll bars.

I have a number of MP3 backup CD's (over 18) which I have loaded into my jukebox. Because I don't have 18 CD drives for the mp3's, I have created a smartlist that gathers all these mp3's (based on a volume name rule [mp3_" ). This works. Now I've also created a SKIP smartlist which includes the backup list and one that I have for other poor quality mp3's that I've found during the normal course of listening. This too, works fine.

The next step is to have all these files automatically skipped when they appear in the playlist. So I choose to skip the playlist SKIP and sure enough, those that should be are all greyed out. The problem is that it will skip the poor quality ones with no problem (ie: these are the ones on my hdd) but when it comes to the ones on the backup CD's MJ delights in telling me that the volume cannot be found, do I want to try again or cancel...

This is quite irritating, because really, all I want to do is skip the songs anyway... Surely you can check "skips" before you check the availability?

Much appreciated!

After uninstalling version 265, then installing 264, I updated back to 265 and all is well again. Maybe too many builds installed on top of one another without uninstalling. CPU usage is about 5 percent with MJ8 playing, OE and IE running.

A few builds ago I started to notice that CDs do not play or rip. It also will not attempt to get CD-TEXT from the CDs. It happens will all my CD drives (3 of them, all on Firewire).

Sometimes if I get the properties for the drive and set it to AutoConfig, I can get tracks to play one time and them I am hosed again.

Since I can rip with AudioGrabber I am assuming this is not a general ASPI problem.

I find I've been seeing a bug the last two builds, definetly on the latest one where when I'm ripping MP3s off of my Toshiba DVD-ROM drve and simutaneously litening to MP3s off of my hardrives, that ripping just hangs at a certain point while playback works fine. Here's my system info:

Having big prob's while playing tracks from CD or even Media Library.

1st an Explorer Fatal Message Window pops up (examples follow) then another Explorer window saying "ERROR LOADING EXPLORER.EXE ... YOU MUST REINSTALL WINDOWS" then the computer shuts down of it's own accord!

Fatal Message Examples e.g.

Explorer caused an invalid page fault in module SYMTRHK.DLL at 017f:012812ad  ...... or

Doof,

In regards to NomadII I think we are comparing apples to apples. In my testing I transferred a few 64kbps WMA files from the Nomad to my Windows 2000 PC and then played them from within MJ without a problem. I will test some more on this and see if I can create the problem, but so far everthing seems to work well. If you wouldn't mind transferring the same files to your PC with Nomad's software and then playing the files with MJ, this could be some useful information.

Thanks for testing.

Steve> I'll do that tonight after I get home from seeing Spiderman. Next Page

Question\Request : When MJ setup begins, it closes down running copies of MJ and DM (does it do the same for Media Scheduler?). I was wondering if there was any way that it could restart those applications that were set to run when Windows starts. So for instance, I have DM set to start with Windows. Then I install the newest build and setup shuts DM down. Could it then detect that it was set to start with Windows and restart DM when it's finished?

DavidH

Try unchecking the option "Jump to Playing Now during playback".  Hope that does the trick.

John H

Could the files have ID3v2.4 tags?  MJ doesn't currently support them.

Philip

It'll be fixed next build.

Thanks.

Doof,

FYI, we modified how Plug-ins get downloaded from our website and there is a bug that will cause you to be unable to download the NomadII plugin with this version of MJ. If a new build comes out later today, it is fixed. If not, you will probably be unable to test this until the next build.

Enjoy Spiderman and give us the review when you get back so we know whether to save our $7. My spidersense is telling me that this movie could be a disappointment.

There are two features that I used frequently in version 6 seem to be missing in 8.
1.  when deleting a file a pop-up gave you the option to "delete from hard drive"
2.  on the bottom left control panel was a button you could click for continuous repeat.

are they elsewhere or could they be added back again?

Thanks!

Both are still there.

1. When you delete a file from Media Library (not a playlist) MJ will ask you if you want to delete from the hard drive as well. If you're deleting from a playlist, then you need to hold shift down while you select Remove from the right click menu.

2. The leftmost button directly beneath the volume control slider is the continuous repeat button.
