Song length is off
« on: May 02, 2002, 06:36:42 am »

Hi...

In ver 264 I imported a song (Don't Be Cruel) which is 2:01 long,
MJ reports it as being 7:12, this also happened to others songs in prior releases.

The size of the file is right, 1.648MB recorded in VBR MP3.
I impoted the song again to Real JukeBox and the length was right there.

I'm editing using sound forge pro so I'll be checking more out today..

It's a VBR mp3, with no Xing header, where the first bunch of frames appear to be CBR.  These files are rare, and if MJ analyzed more of an mp3 to see if it really was CBR or VBR, it would hurt performance for all the other files.

Ideally, try to use a VBR mp3 encoder that adds a Xing header. (like LAME)

Take care.
