Is it not possible to 'look' at the media library on 'computer one' while it is connected to the media library on 'computer two'?

i.e. I have a laptop that I like to run MJ on. I have it connected to my main computer with all my mp3s. What if I want to download a song (on my laptop) and add it to Playing Now?

No downloads are possible.  Sorry.  They won't be until the law gets sorted out.

Maybe I shouldn't have used the word 'download'. How about this. Let's say I have 50 mp3s on my Main Computer and 10 mp3s on my laptop. I have my laptop outside on the patio listening to MJ. I have it connected to the Main Computer and am playing one of those 50 songs. Well, then I want to play one of the 10 songs that reside on the laptop. Can this be done without disconnecting from the Main Computer?

if you could select files from maybe 3 servers, and then create a play list when you play the song it should check to see if the server is online, do you have security access, then check to see if the file exists if all are true, play\stream the song and this could include the local computer.

also, maybe add an option to view users using web cams when your sharing files, and also allow voice talk.

DJ options where when your talking you can play songs for each other to hear (cable\dls required).

with maybe a "Scrach" button

JimH - it's not possible to download songs due to file sharing being a problem but I was just wondering (this is just a thought I had, feel free to tell me if its rubbish) instead of sharing the song and letting the user copy it to their system. How about letting the user MOVE the song to the other computer.
i.e. you send it to the other computer and once the other computer sucessfully has it then Media Jukebox automatically deletes it from the original computer.

This would mean the file wasn't being distributed in the slightest but would make it a lot easier for us to get songs onto our current computer that we are using from whichever computer they are on.

People wouldn't use it for file trading as they'd be loosing their copy of the song.

i think the problem with that is was the file legal to begin with.

and there would be nothing stoping a user to have two copies of a file

c:\my music\safe zone
c:\my music\share zone

this would then allow pirating of music files.
