Keyboard Shortcut for Plugins
« on: July 16, 2012, 06:01:26 pm »

I'm using the Mini Lyrics Plugin because MC doesn't support floating lyrics.

Is there a way to create a keyboard shortcut to activate/deactivate or Show/hide the Plugin.
Like in the Plugin Setting options.

I don't want to use Mini Lyrics all the time.It would be great to map a keyboard shortcut for my
iMon Remote to activate/deactivate the Plugin.

In MiniLyrics Preferences > Advanced set a global hotkey for UI: Bring to front/Hide, then program that to your remote.

The Problem is that i don't want MiniLyrics running in the background because of different reasons.

Not all Lyrics match in first search.
I tried it but, it's still running and downloading lyrics in the background.
Disabling the Plugin in MC works like i would like it.

Is there really no way to add keyboard shortcuts to disable a plugin.

To be clear...MiniLyrics registering itself as a plugin doesn't give MC any control over it. It's not well integrated with MC—it opens and closes with MC, does it's thing, and provides its own global hotkey configuration.

I don't care about it running in the background. But I often don't want it at all and will shut it down, and maybe even disable it so it won't start with MC. I've therefore programmed my remote's 'MiniLyrics On' item to start it if it's not running and otherwise bring it to the front. 'MiniLyrics Off' simply hides it. If I didn't want it running in the background, I would program that to quit. In other words, add a global hotkey for 'Quit', and use that.

Not the Solution.

I use MC for every Media not only music.
MC starts MiniLyrics (Or get startet with MC).
Everytime i start MC i should quit minilyrics.No good idea!

How about an answer:
-keyboard shortcut ->possible or not?
-If not->Why?
And MC can Activate and Deactivate the Plugin.That's all i need.....

...Or perhaps integrating the Plugin in Theater View (Activate/Deactivate) in the future?

How about following the direction I've already provided? If you don't want MiniLyrics starting with MC, turn that option off in MiniLyrics' preferences. My remote can be programmed to start any program. If yours can't, use a Windows or AutoHotkey shortcut to start it when it's needed. Once it's running, it has it's own global shortcuts for showing/hiding and closing.

This way it works.

I thought the player wich you want to use has to be activated in the settings from Minilyrics or it won't work.
My fault.

Now i have another problem.Minilyrics won't stay on top if i start it manually.Always on Top setting is active?
I know i could handle this with show/hide hotkeys, but i don't want to map to many shortcuts on my remote for Minilyrics.

Edit:
Problem solved:
I had to move Minilyrics from Systemtray to the taskbar.
Now it works.
