INTERNAL DSP vs DFX
« on: April 27, 2002, 02:02:20 pm »

Is it a good idea to use both the internal DSP EFFECTS and DFX processors? And if DFX is active should the EQ be off as well?

MJ8 260 is getter better all the time. Keep up the excellent work.

Don't use both.
DFX IMHO is a better signal processor.

>>>>>>.should I use the EQ with DFX

others will say no

i use both--they seem to me to have slightly different functions

just don't crank 'em up too high if you use both

Thanks - have experimented with solo DFX and with DFX |PLS| EQ. Me thinks I prefer to have both active. Especially on my laptop I seem to get better sound with both. Now on my desktop I don't use ANY of the processors as my sound card and 3 pc speaker system have processors built in.

I just moved from RealJukeBox, which I liked very allot,
but the change to pay service 9.95 is out of the questionand I;d lose too much
using it, I have the plus version, I'd lose features.

Anyway, I use Sonic Foundry and think it a waste to use DFX, the internal does the job
unlike DFX where I would lose much of the editing and effects I put in.
I do use DFX with Real Player and JukeBox.

I forgot to mention one should concider the sound card and speakers you have,
I have Turtle Bech Santa Cruz and Cambridge digital surround speakers.
I use the Turtle Beach equalizer.
