I have tried to get Red October HQ working on my PC and have not had any luck so far. I am not a novice in regards to setting things up, but this has me stumped. While selecting RO-HQ the player always reverts to VRM9 when looking at the filters. I allowed JRiver to load the filters by itself on start-up. Switching to the merit system fails to play at all. The merit system has no way to select specific filters to use that I know work with MadVr. I have MadVr working in MPC-HC with the following filters: Nvidia Audio decoder, Nvidia video decoder, Dvd navigator, and Direct sound device.
My system:
Win XPPro SP3
Asus MB
Intel X9650 quad core
2 gigs ram
ATI 6670 with the latest drivers. for the render
All I want to do is play the disk from the drive or rips, but I get copy protection errors or VR9 for the render. Using Direct show filter manager, it appears the JRiver loads its own DMO filters which cannot be changed. Using AnyDVD does not help in this case. Any help is appreciated. If it won't work on XP I will just dump the program.
