MediaCenter 17.0.182 Crashes on Media Import Screen
« on: August 31, 2012, 11:49:37 am »

Strange problem on all my PC's following the upgrade to 17.0.182. Upgrades fine but when entering the Library / Import screen the application crashes "Media Center 17 has stopped working" appears. The only thing different is I purchased a new key (for preparation to move up to MC 18). Any ideas? I have attached the log file for review.

It's crashing in a background thread in srvcli.dll.

This isn't a problem I've heard before, so I don't have a good answer.

It could be when the program is searching for recommended import paths.  You could try disconnecting the network cable and/or special drives you have attached and see if it makes any difference.

Please let us know what you find.

Matt, you are on the right track. I removed mapped network drives and the system stopped crashing. I added one mapped drive and the crashing returned. Any ideas?

Is there anything special about the mapped drives?  Do you have any security software or special drive software that might cause special behavior?

Removed Synology Assistant (Synology NAS drive management application) still crashed when attempting to add media to the import path. However, I added a mapped drive while the media import window was open and it worked ( Synology Assistant still removed). I will continue to play with configurations. Thanks for helping.
