Feature request: FLAC Transcoding

Normally a DAC connects to a PC using SPDIF or USB.
I wouldn’t be surprised if in your case the connection is over the network using the Bridge.
This is not direct playback but streaming.
The protocol is probably DLNA so one could choose in this case who does the decoding, the server or the renderer.
It will help if you are a bit more specific about gear used and type of connection.

Sorry Vincent, you are exactly right. I'm streaming via the PS Audio Bridge which is installed in my PWD. Running MC17 from Win7 x64 Ultimate. System is hard cabled from my FiOS router to the Bridge. The Bridge supports UPnP and DLNA. I would like the server to do the decoding.

Matt:
You can configure DLNA conversion in Options > Media Network > Add or Configure DLNA Servers...

I think you're smart to decode to PCM on the computer side.  It makes it so basically every format is playable, all at the best possible quality.

Thanks Matt. I'll give it a try when I get home.

I got in on the last day to purchase the MC17/18 license at the discounted price. While I haven't had much time to evaluate it yet, the great reputation plus the ability to stream SACD ISO was enough to let me take the risk. I hope it turns out to be what I'm looking for!

Hmm, what are the best settings to do this?
