[Solved] DLNA-Images: Aspect ratio 16:9 ?
« on: September 03, 2012, 02:30:37 am »

Hi folks.

I've been testing MC DLNA capabilities yesterday.

Slideshows incl. attaching music via DLNA works quite nice with MC on my Bravia. I'm wondering if there's a better DLNA server for that particular purpose .

The great thing is that my MC-IMAGES server profile lets me also convert all music tracks (that I relate to the slideshow)  to mp3 for this particular purpose within the same profile. My MC-Audio profile (native data streaming) stays intouched this way.   Great stuff.

After all there's one feature that I'm really missing.

MC lets me select 1080-TV as best option for showing pics on my TV.

SFSG.

What I would love to see  is on option that would let me select 16:9 aspect ratio for images.

In this case I'd be able cover the full TV screen. I'd loose a bit on the top and bottom, but overall the shown image would gain a lot by being much bigger.

What do you think??
THX a lot.

Is it possible you can configure the TV to crop or stretch?  Normally aspect ratio handling is done on the display side, not the server side.

I just figured it by myself. You're right.

I can do it also on my TV. (crop+zoom)

That'll work for me at least.

If it works on a different TV is another issue.

The other question is if your transcoder would do a better job, then the TV on this job!?!?

THX.
