Controlling MJ from keyboard when not in foreground
« on: April 25, 2002, 10:59:31 am »

I would like to control MJ via keyboard shortcuts (e.g. using the windows key) when its not the foreground application.  I have a laptop that doesn't have the multi-media keys, but would more or less like that functionality.  I have a really great program called WinKey that lets you assign programs to keystrokes.  So all I need to do is somehow send the correct messages to MJ from WinKey.

Is there any easy way to do this?  Will any of the remote control plug-ins (like Girder) help me?

Thanks,
toddler

Universal Infrared Control Engine - it'll let you assign keyboard shortcuts to whatever you want.
You can then program it to open up Media Jukebox before passing it the keyboard shortcuts all for the same button keypress.
That's the way I had to do it with my remote setup.
