Custom field for audio format
« on: August 24, 2012, 07:28:35 am »

Hi,

How do I set up a custom field for audio format? The Compression field returns the container with video and audio formats in parentheses, but I would like to create a field that only displays the audio format (DTS, FLAC etc.). It would also be cool if it's possible to display the number of channels too, and distinguish between DTS and DTS-HD, which the Compression field doesn't do.

According to Matt sometime earlier this year:

Just a little note that the source format in Audio Path is coming directly from the LAV audio decoder when video is playing.

In other words, it's not using the 'Compression' field since the actual decoded format can change with stream selection.

This was in response to my airball attempt to provide an expression to breakout the video and audio components.
