HTPC won't sleep after scheduled TV recording.
« on: May 06, 2012, 03:47:14 am »

From another thread (I thought it better to start a new topic):
I find that my computer does not sleep if MC17 is running.

I've noticed this recently.

Sleep is fine provided the PC is woken up manually. Whenever the scheduler wakes it up for recording TV it doesn't go back to sleep. I can't make it sleep from the TheaterView Exit menu, the start menu, pressing the power button (i have it set to sleep) or (more importantly) from the power saving timer (set for 15 min).

If I close MC and restart it, then it will sleep fine. Seems like something in the TV recording is keeping the PC awake for the recording, but forgetting to switch off when the recording is done, and the PC never goes to sleep.
:(

I've only noticed for the past couple of weeks. Before that it would go back to sleep as expected.

Bump.

I'm convinced it is an MC process that is keeping my PC awake. All I have to do is close MC and reopen it, and then when I hit 'sleep' it will sleep in seconds.

Bump, I've noticed the same thing.

I'm new to theater view and tv recording, so I can't say whether or not it was behaving differently before.
