Does it matter which operating system to run mc17?
I am running xp and was thinking of an upgrade to 7.
Any benifit?

Media Center works fine on XP or Windows 7.
But Windows 7 is a better OS in my opinion. I think you'll be happy with it.

Definitely Windows 7. It is a far superior platform for media playback. I had a very stable XP HTPC that I was reluctant to move. A year after the Win7 launch I bit the bullet and it was painless and a massive improvement.

Windows 7 offers you WASAPI over Windows XP.
