Cant manually add a channel
« on: September 08, 2012, 09:53:31 pm »

I am having no luck manually adding a channel.

The Silicondust hdhr scan and quickview application can tune discovery HD, but the Jr MC channel scan did not pick it up, so I want to add it manually.

It is channel 89, sub channel 2203 on frequency 615000000 as reported by the SD HDHR.

When I try to add the channel manually in JRiver MC (TV Options -> edit channel list -> add channel)

I've tried entering the values in various ways in the dialogue box, but I am stopped with an error
"Please add Original Network ID"  There isn't a field called Original Network ID?!

Please help, see attachments.

Yaobing,

Are you aware of any way for me to find the frequency for a channel I want to add. There are a few the scan misses, but picked up with other software. I have the all the other parameters: Discovery Channel 36.2203 Channel 8.
I just can not find any software that will give me the frequency MC asks for.

Sorry, I do not have any information on that.

I too see some channels in HDHomerun quickview that MC could not pick up.  It seems that what MC picks up are all local over-the-air channels.  I have tried manually adding some channels but none has worked.

Thanks for the info Nick, but no I am in the US... Seattle, WA area.

I have tried to see where Windows and WinTv keep there channel info but have struck out on finding frequencies.  :-\

I noticed that MC 18 now has a more robust form for manually adding a channel, but I've still been unsuccessful manually adding a channel.  Has anyone any luck with this that can perhaps show me the way?
